Banana/Pineapple Kesari

Sorry girls, don't have a picture, will definitely make it a point to click next time I make something.

Kesari Bath or Sooji halwa is an all time favourite for all , especially since it can be made in a jiffy.I make it quite often for Akshara, she loves it.
Yesterday I had a couple of guests from my husbands work and I forgot to make a dessert. Sooji halwa to the rescue it was.But this time I made it with banana.

rava 1/2 cup
water 1.5 cups
banana 1/3 cup
butter / desi ghee 2table spoon
sugar 3/4 cup
cashew/raisin according to your taste
yellow food color a small pinch

You can also substitute Banana for pineapple , it gives a very very good flavor and taste.

Heat a kadai , add the ghee/butter  and roast the cashews and dry grapes till slighlty brown. Now add sooji and fry it on a low flame till it reaches a golden brown color.(You can check the correct stage of cooked rava by wet hands over the mixture. If it doesnt stick to your hands it means it is cooked.)
Meanwhile heat the water with banana and bring it to a boil.
Add sugar to the rava mixture. Add the boiling water and food color, keep stirring on a low flame to avoid lumps.

Keep stirring till you get a good consistency .
Add cardamom powder and stir.
Garnish with saffron leaves.
